Nike Vomero Premium

I've been stopped 3 times this week by random people asking about my shoes...the new Nike Vomero Premiums.

They are absurd, almost high-heeled running shoes. I recommend them "highly".

I do care a little about running shoes, but these made me more crazy than usual. I don't wanna take them off! As a bigger guy who runs, I've tried a lot of running shoes that have some cushion and most are... fine. These are awesome. I've put about 50 miles so far on them in the last couple weeks, so we'll see how they hold up longer but. I haven't run in Nikes since 2018 or so, I went to Asics/Adidas/Hoka/On. Like everyone else, while Nike sort of lost the plot.

But Nike are onto something with these. They seem to serve three groups that don't always overlap — hypebeasts (are they still called that?), serious runners, and regular people who just want to walk in comfort. A lot of products that try to serve everyone, serve no one.

Anyways I was writing this to complain: Nike is doing their classic artificial scarcity thing and pretending they can't make enough, and they are always sold out. When you have something this good, maybe you should just sell them? I can see that the fashion lords might not like them if they were ubiquitous. But Nike has that covered with about a million other weird shoes.

Wish I could have bought the black ones though. The colorway I got is a conversation starter whether I want it to be or not.
